How do I book Sisongke to perform?

You can call, email or write to us about any issue, including performances. We charge very modest fees, and also perform free for appropriate events. See our contact page for contact details!

Who can join the choir?

It is a community choir, so anyone who lives in a community can join!! There is NO need to be able to read music, there are NO auditions.
We just ask that people can make a commitment to be at the performances, and make it to as many rehearsals as they can. However, if you just want to come for a sing every now and again, you can join as a casual member!!

Where and when are the rehearsals?

We rehearse at the friends meeting house. It is almost on the corner of Argyle St and Boa Vista Rd, at the Friends School in North Hobart. There will be a map here shortly, that you can click on!
The rehearsals run from 7pm to 9pm, every Thursday night. We generally follow school terms for our commencment dates, this year (2007) that is the case. Drinks often follow rehearsal.

How Much does it cost?

There is a fee, paid by the term, which varies from $60 for full time employees to $40 concession, to $6 weekly for casual attendance.
There is no fee for music, an occasional nominal cost for some practice CDs, and there is no uniform cost, as we just ask members to wear black, and we provide the scarf!.
We try to keep all the costs down, we don't want financial situation to prevent anybody from the benefits of singing in a choir!!
